Here are some pictures from our visit to the Gettysburg Nation Military Park. Over all the trip was pretty interesting, it's great to be able to really see the place where something you've been hearing about your whole life happened. It all seems so vague until you're there and can visualize it and see the actual places where history was made as they say. It's a huge area, they've restored much of it to look much as it did in 1863, planted with crops and everything. As you can probably tell thought from these pictures the fields and woods are so quiet and placid we all agreed it was hard to imagine something to horrific and important happened there. I'm just sort of a Civil War history enthuse, but there were a lot of people there visiting who were Serious Civil War geeks, so I overheard some great conversations about battle particulars and interesting little details.
